PT Widjajatunggal Sejahtera, the holding company of the Sintesa Group, was created in 1992 to participate in the ownership of PT Tigaraksa, popularly known as the TIGARAKSA or TIRA Group.
Since its inception PT Widjajatunggal Sejahtera has extended its shareholding to include all companies within the TIRA Group. The founders of PT Widjajatunggal Sejahtera recognized the synergistic value of a common shareholding to enable the pursuit of a common goal.

In 1999, the founders of PT Widjajatunggal Sejahtera decided to rename the company to reflect their group philosphy and legalized it through a respected notary. That marked the birth of the Sintesa Group.

The Sintesa Group has investments in many companies, including companies within the TIRA Group and other independent companies. Two of the companies are listed at the Jakarta Stock Exchange (now called the Indonesia Stock Exchange.)

Sintesa succeeded in convincing renowned international companies to invest in companies under the Sintesa Group, creating a powerful domesticinternational bond. Sintesa is recognized as a group that understands Indonesia, which is often seen as a country with immense intricaciespresents difficulties to foreign investors.

As it has done with its international business partners, Sintesa has been able to guide companies, in which they have equity, through the complex Indonesian business environment and see them thrive.
